Maths is used every day, by everyone. It is crucial in completing daily tasks like shopping and cooking, gaining employment and supporting children with their homework.
Despite this, one in four people in England struggle with maths, with many unaware that they already use it or mistakenly thinking that learning maths as an adult will be the same as learning it at school.
That’s why, in 2013, a partnership [link to partners page] was set up to address the issue. The partners recruited maths champions [link to maths champions page] and created a number of resources [link to partner resources page] to support learners in developing and improving their maths skills.
Supported by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, the Maths4us initiative is driven forward by NIACE and a number of key partner organisations across the public and private sector.
